This area was first established in the middle 1800s by the W.M. Mobley family. They migrated from Savannah, Georgia. Odessa was named by a Russian immigrant who developed the community through the Orange Belt Railway. At that time, the Orange Belt Railway was the longest narrow-gauge railroad in the United States. It ran from Sanford to Trilby to St. Petersburg. The railway brought people together in Odessa to establish homes, businesses, and to form a small community with a big heart.

We are Looking Forward to Serving Trinity Too!

Another town that we are looking forward to serving is Trinity. The Trinity community was named after the Trinity Bible College that was founded in 1932. It relocated to a site developed by Dr. James Gills in the late 1980’s. Trinity is located at the junction where Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties meet. The community of Longleaf is in Trinity. It is believed that the “Welcome Plank” originated in Longleaf. Trinity has a population of over 10,000 and a small unemployment rate of 5.0%. What’s exciting is that Trinity has seen the job market increase by 2.4% and future job growth is projected to be 44.3% over the next ten years! One thing is for sure, with that kind of growth, people will be looking for a Trinity eye doctor and we are excited to be here to offer this vital service.
