Digital Retinal Imaging
Digital retinal imaging allows us to take pictures of the back of your eye to detect any potential problems or diseases. When you receive a retinal evaluation, we can keep your retinal image on file to examine and compare during future evaluations to track any changes over time. Digital retinal imaging is important to the detection and early treatment of various diseases that may or may not exhibit obvious symptoms and is the only way to diagnose ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal tears.
In addition to digital retinal imaging, your doctor may also conduct other retinal testing depending on your specific needs and condition. When testing is completed, your doctor will discuss the evaluation findings with you and any potential risks for a retinal disease you may have. We take pride in educating our patients on their diagnosis and treatment options and welcome any questions you may have. You can rest assured that any treatment you may need will be administered in the most professional, safe, and effective way possible.
