Christopher Tumolo O.D., L.D.O. is an optometric physician and licensed optician specializing in difficult prescriptions such as severe refractive error conditions, prism evaluations, and hard-to-fit contact lenses. Dr. Tumolo treats dry eye disease by offering medical eye drops such as Restasis, Xiidra, and Cequa along with punctal occlusion therapy (punctal plugs). He has over 22 years of experience as a licensed optician educating fellow opticians in the southwest region of Florida on progressive lens technology, fitting, and measurements. His extensive training in optics allows him to prescribe the best lens and frame options to fit each patient’s individual prescription. He is also an expert at ocular foreign body removal, multifocal contact lens fits, monovision contact lens fits, and astigmatism contact lens fits.
Christopher Tumolo grew up in the Tampa Bay Area. He worked as a Licensed Dispensing Optician for years teaching fellow opticians optics and lensometry. He furthered his education in optometry school where he finished out his training and received his doctoral degree. Dr. Tumolo is passionate about his patient’s eye care, health, and wellbeing. He believes the formal barriers that constrict the doctor-patient interaction should be dissolved and he takes pride in walking his patients through every step of the examination educating and explaining to them all the details of the eye and their refractive conditions.
Dr. Tumolo created Beyond 2020 Vision Specialists to bring back that personal touch, reminiscent of the times when doctors made house-calls, added with today’s modern examination technologies. Together you get a personal specialized examination and a sense of trust that you received a complete and thorough examination. Dr. Tumolo is a dog lover and can usually be found around town with his Jack Russell terrier Bruna. He also enjoys kickboxing, MMA, working out, sports cars, and drawing.
