Christopher Tumolo O.D., L.D.O. is a highly skilled optometric physician and licensed optician who specializes in addressing difficult prescriptions, severe refractive error conditions, prism evaluations, and hard-to-fit contact lenses. He is also well-versed in treating dry eye disease with medical eye drops such as Restasis, Xiidra, and Cequa, as well as punctal occlusion therapy (punctal plugs).
With over 22 years of experience as a licensed optician, Dr. Tumolo has extensive knowledge of progressive lens technology, fitting, and measurements. He utilizes this expertise to prescribe the best lens and frame options that cater to each patient’s unique prescription. Additionally, Dr. Tumolo is an expert in ocular foreign body removal, multifocal contact lens fits, monovision contact lens fits, and astigmatism contact lens fits.
Growing up in the Tampa Bay Area, Dr. Tumolo worked as a Licensed Dispensing Optician, teaching fellow opticians optics and lensometry. He continued his education in optometry school, where he completed his training and earned his doctoral degree. Dr. Tumolo is passionate about providing his patients with the highest level of eye care and is committed to dissolving the formal barriers that can inhibit doctor-patient interaction.
Through his practice, Beyond 2020 Vision Specialists, Dr. Tumolo aims to deliver a personalized and specialized examination experience that incorporates both modern examination technologies and a personal touch. He takes pride in walking his patients through every step of the examination, educating and explaining to them all the details of the eye and their refractive conditions.
When he’s not working, Dr. Tumolo enjoys spending time with his Jack Russell terrier, Bruna, and engaging in activities such as kickboxing, MMA, working out, sports cars, and drawing.

Dr. Christopher Tumolo is an outstanding doctor. My son collided heads with a friend while away on an 8th grade trip to DC the night before flying home and his eye took the brunt of the force causing his eye to bleed and swelled. Dr Tumolo heard my concern when I knew we couldn’t make it into his office before closing time. He immediately told me to call him and that he would even come back to the office to check him out when my son arrived back in Tampa. We made it to his office and Dr. Tumolo was extremely thorough in examining his eye. He went through all the different parts of his eye showing us on a large screen how everything was checking out. What a relief, I felt so comfortable and reassured that everything checked out fine. Dr. Tumolo has compassion and empathy that should set the standards higher for others. I highly rate his professionalism and service.
Are you kidding me? My most favorite place now! Cannot believe how long I have been jerked around by eye care facilities. I go in here because its close to my house, and walk out being able to see things that I could not see without readers, etc. before. Its contacts, but I have been told I could not get them by other places that just wanted to sell me glasses. I have the worlds record in destroying glasses, like a small child with them! The whole place is awesome, its a beautiful center, the best staff, and an amazing doctor… love the guy!
The staff is great, and after having a pretty stressful day, they were relaxing and friendly and it changed my day as well.
Visit this place for your eye care, you will not be disappointed, and if you are, let them know and I am sure they will do all they can to make things right.
I visited this office over 3 months ago and have been meaning to share my wonderful experience. This visit was the absolute best I have EVER experienced for my eyes. I received the clearest prescription contacts AND glasses in one visit. Dr.Tumolo was so very personable, answered all my questions I’d had about the changes in my vision. The equipment used was high tech that before he was even done I knew we got my prescription right. Literally the clearest I’ve had in a long time. I’d had a prior exam at America’s Best off State Route 54East and it was beyond horrible. I canceled my overpriced order for glasses the very next day, not to mention they got my contact prescription totally wrong. I was so disgusted with the whole sales experience that it took me several months later to revisit my eyes again. Had kept seeing this office when I’d drive by and decided to finally call after the Dr. Tumolo was featured in a local news magazine write up. So very thankful I did and now have the clearest contacts ever along with great glasses that also had the clearest prescription. Just extremely pleased, thankful really.
Simply one of the best . Friendly, knowledgeable, high tech, and everything you want in a doctor’s office. No waiting! Dr Tumolo explains everything in language anyone can understand. As a retired Optometrist I know how to rate a doctor and their exam, hence the 5 star rating. I’ll be back for my annual visit. Thanks Dr Tumolo.
I was so excited when this location opened close to me! I know others who have visited Dr. Tumolo at his other locations and they spoke so highly of him. Both me and my 4 year old daughter were examined. He explained all of the tests and technology that was used, including taking pics of the backs of our eyes instead of being dilated, etc. Although my daughter never showed any signs of eye issues, he recognized that there was a big discrepancy in her left eye’s sight and took extra steps to fully vet the issue. He also spoke in laymen’s terms to help me understand the issue and treatment plan, helping to keep me calm. He also made everything into a game for my daughter and never once let her in on the fact that something was wrong. Our glasses arrived today and the staff (Destiny helped us) took such care in adjusting them for us. They made a big deal out of how cool my daughter looks in her new glasses and now she loves them! We have definitely found our new optometrist!
Fortunate to have found this practice. Dr. Tumolo is thorough with his knowledge and so absolutely attentive and had answers to all my questions and concerns. He was so full of warmth & compassion towards my son. His staff that we met on the day of appointment were simply awesome. They were very polite, helpful & did a great job. My heartfelt wishes for Dr. Tumolo and all the team members.

Dr. Tumolo was awesome. He did a thorough exam of my eyes and linked my eye health to my overall health. He gives great advice, cares about his patients, and felt he was genuinely looking out for me. I will definitely keep going back to do my check ups there. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. Overall would definitely recommend getting your eyes checked here.
Best eye exam ever!!!! Dr. Tumolo and the staff took a great care of me. Love the postive energy and kind welcome. Dr. Tumolo is very knowledgeable and patient to explain every question I have. I have a pretty high prescription but I was able to have a prescription for both glasses and contact lenses.

I emailed requesting an appointment and the response was very quick. Dr. Tumolo actually came in on his day off to see my daughter. His exam was very thorough and he explained everything well. The facility is clean and everyone there is so kind and helpful. I am so grateful to have found such stellar care!
Amazing- I give this practice a five plus star rating . Door to door service was professional , quality , fast and efficient. Called his office due to a foreign body on my eye and he came in on his day off to meet my needs . He explained everything step by step as I was hesitate about anything touching my eye . He is gentle , reassuring, and a caring physician . The other physician in the office assisted in my care and she was just as knowledgeable and caring as he was . I can’t say thank you enough to the physicians and all the staff here . Thank you Dr. Tumolo!!!!!!
I found Dr. Tumolo very friendly and knowledgeable. Unlike many other doctors I’ve seen in the past, he made me feel relaxed, at ease. He explained thoroughly all the details of my exam on his state-of the art equipment.
Destiny was very nice. Upon my arrival at their office she answered the many questions that were on my mind and then took some preliminary tests prior to seeing the doctor.
Dr. Christopher Tumolo is exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail and answered all my concerns. For years i had been taking my daughter to many doctors leaving every single appointment concerned of her condition. For the first time I felt 100% good and understood why and how it happened .I highly recommend him and his staff .
Dr. Tumolo takes a very genuine interest in his patients and was extremely helpful both with my prescription as well as my other vision complications (glaucoma). He took the time to explain everything to me and provided me a referral as well. I really don’t like being treated like I”m on an assembly line , like what I say goes in one ear and out the other with my doctors. I was insanely lucky finding Dr. Tumolo’s practice and I can’t say enough great things about him.
Dr. Tumulo and his assistant were awesome! Even though they were super busy (Saturday afternoon), they both took the time to give me 100% of they attention and neither one of them seemed anxious or frustrated. They both explained everything to me in layman’s terms which I really appreciated. And both were very friendly and had a great sense of humor, which put myself at ease. I will definitely recommend Beyond 2020 to my friends and associates.
Had a glasses emergency after snapping the frames. Long story short, I had a headache and pulled my glasses off. Must have fallen on the ground because I didn’t notice and stepped on them. I rushed to Costco but was told my prescription expired. I don’t have a regular optometrist and the last prescription I got was online.
I figured an in-person doctor would be best. I called around different places and couldn’t get an appointment until December and I was just like how in the world are people supposed to carry on and live their lives, drive, work etc. when something unexpected happens.
I called Beyond 2020 after hours and they said I could contact them via email in the voicemail. I thought, great, it’ll be days til I hear back. He got back to me in minutes. Dr. Tumolo, himself responded and was super friendly and helpful and got me in the next day. I was amazed with how affordable and how well he treats his patients. I’ll definitely go back and would highly recommend him. Also, found out my prescription was way off and he fixed it for me.
