Do You Need an Appointment for an Eye Exam? Walk-Ins Welcome

Sometimes you need an eye exam today, not in three weeks. Your glasses broke, you’re down to your last pair of contacts, or the driver license office told you to come back with a vision form. At Beyond 2020 Vision Specialists, our offices inside Visionworks welcome walk-ins every day they’re open, Monday through Saturday.

Good reasons to walk in

  • You need an updated prescription for new glasses
  • You’re running out of contact lenses and need a new contact lens prescription
  • You failed the vision screening at the driver license office, or you’re renewing at 80 or older and need a driver license vision test
  • Your eyes are red, itchy, irritated or watery
  • You simply haven’t had an exam in a while and have a free afternoon

When not to wait

For sudden vision loss, a chemical splash or a serious eye injury, go to the emergency room or call 911. For new flashes of light or a sudden shower of floaters, call an eye doctor right away. Read more about medical and urgent eye care.

What to bring

  • Your current glasses and contact lenses, or the boxes they came in
  • Your vision and medical insurance cards
  • A photo ID
  • Any forms you were given, such as a driver license vision form

How long it takes

Wait times depend on how busy the office is when you arrive. Weekday mornings are often quieter than Saturdays. If you’d like a set time, you can book online or call the office before you come.

Where to walk in

Glasses and contact lenses at these offices are provided by the Visionworks store in the same location, so you can pick out frames right after your exam.
